Band and Orchestra Students can take a band and/or orchestra class and have opportunities to perform.
Battle of the Books Battle of the Books is a book-related competition for students in grades 4-5 (elementary) and 6-8 (middle school). Students are quizzed about books that they have read from the designated Battle of the Books reading list. Teams are sponsored by school libraries.
Cheerleading (School Specific) Cheerleading is an opportunity offered at GV to begin cheerleading in MS basketball prior to HS. This takes place only during basketball season.
Girls on the Run Girls on the Run is a ten week program for third through fifth graders focused on developing essential skills to help participants recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one-of-a-kind. The program culminates with a service project and participant completing in a celebratory 5K event!
Math Counts A nationally recognized program that enriches students who enjoy problem-solving, acquiring new skills, and challenging themselves in solving rigorous math problems of all backgrounds.
Middle School Athletics Students have the opportunity to participate in volleyball and basketball at the school level. At the district level, students can try out to participate in a variety of sports.
Mock Trial Students practice for and get to attend mock trial at ASU. They take on roles such as lawyer and judge in preparation.
Stem (Science Olympiad) Club based around STEM and a national club Science Olympiad. This program offers challenges for students ranging from engineering to problem solving.
Student Council Middle school club practicing leadership and service for GV. Responsible for MS socials, concessions at athletic events and more.
